When you hear “only genuine parts”… run. It’s marketing, not magic. “Genuine” usually means the part comes in the manufacturer’s bag with their logo on it—nothing more. It doesn’t guarantee better metallurgy, tighter tolerances, or longer life.
Check my van stock for an Electrolux fan-forced element in the original bag. This is exactly how the manufacturer wants you to receive your “genuine” part. We’ve pulled “genuine” elements straight from sealed bags that prove to be a lower quality than alternatives we can source—same fit, worse build. The bag doesn’t cook your dinner; the element does.
What actually matters is the spec, the process, and the QC behind the element—not the sticker on the bag. OEMs (the oven maker) rebadge parts from multiple suppliers over time, so that “genuine” label can be a moving target: sometimes great, sometimes average, sometimes worse than a higher-spec aftermarket.
Many have seen the claim “we don’t use cheaper Chinese parts.” Let’s be honest: global brands source globally. Large element manufacturers (for example, groups like Backer) build in the US, Mexico, China, the UK, and elsewhere. Country-of-origin isn’t a quality rating; process control, materials, design, and QA are.
So blanket statements about “not using cheaper suppliers” don’t map to reality. Suppliers and OEMs change factories, dual-source, and shift lines all the time. The only thing you can reliably judge is performance over time.
Short answer: you can’t—at least not upfront. There’s no label that says “longest-lasting.” The only honest way to know is to track what fails and what lasts—across hundreds or thousands of installs—over years. Early failure shows up quickly; long service life takes time to prove. High volumes of the same product help patterns emerge fast.
When choosing on your own, focus on this—not the bag:
We’ve been repairing ovens long enough—and in high enough volume—to separate the duds from the winners. Here’s how we keep your oven running longer:
This means you get a part chosen for performance and longevity, not for the logo on the bag or the latest marketing line.
You want an oven that keeps working, not a prettier bag. That’s why we source on merit—and stand behind what we install.
