Building the Future: An Honest Update on Our New EV Van Setup
If you have been following our journey to go EV Carbon Neutral, you know we recently took delivery of a striking new Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro. We know many of you are eager to see it pull up in your driveway, so here's a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to pioneer an electric vehicle fleet in Adelaide.
A Look Inside Our Mobile Workshop
We have officially begun installing our heavy-duty modular workshop system! As you can see, the rear cargo bay is being fitted with professional ToughBuilt StackTech storage cases to hold our diagnostic tools, replacement heating elements, and oven thermostats securely.
However, being one of the absolute first businesses in Australia to convert an ID. Buzz into a dedicated appliance repair vehicle comes with unique, pioneering challenges.
The First-Generation Hurdle: Finding the Bolt Points
Unlike traditional diesel vans with straightforward steel floors, an electric vehicle is built like a smartphone on wheels. The entire floor of the vehicle sits directly on top of a highly sensitive, high-voltage battery pack.
Because the ID. Buzz is so incredibly new to the Australian market, local technicians are working without historical blueprints. We are currently working closely with Volkswagen engineers to get final, verified confirmation on the exact millimetre-safe zones where we can drill the floor to mount our heavy-duty restraint bolts.
Why We Aren't Cutting Corners
When our technician hits the brakes on an Adelaide expressway, hundreds of kilograms of commercial tools and steel components rely entirely on those restraint bolts. Safety is our absolute priority:
Battery Integrity: We must guarantee 100% clearance from the high-voltage electrical architecture underneath.
Compliance & Certification: Every single anchor point must comply strictly with Australian structural safety and transport regulations.
Flawless Execution: We prefer to do the job slowly and safely once, rather than rushing a critical safety anchor.
We Are Still Rolling!
While our "burnt orange" future workshop undergoes its final engineering checks, our trusted, ultra-reliable backup vehicle is fully loaded and on the road. Your oven repairs will not experience any delays!
We want to thank all of our amazing Adelaide customers for supporting a local business willing to take on the growing pains of a cleaner, greener future. Stay tuned — as soon as those final bolts are locked down, the Buzz will be silently heading to a kitchen near you!
